Golden earplugs, Javanese, late 1800's.
Diameter front disk: 2,6 cm.
Diameter rear disk: 1,6 cm.
Golden earplugs / starshaped motif on the front disks with in the center a beautifull white translucent stone and filled with black mastic / rear disks with wonderfull filigree work.
Provenance: Indonesian family heirlooms, of an Indonesian man who take them with him just after the second World War from Indonesia to the Netherlands.
Additional info: Similar earplugs are in the Museum Volkenkunde Leiden, collected before 1900.
