Old klewang from probably South Sumatra.
In original and uncleaned condition, dd. around 1850.
Handle: Green horn, nice patina, with usual (very small) cracks of age, and in perfect condition considering age. (15 cm)
Blade: Heavy but slender blade, 8mm thick at the spine near the blade and tapering to the point. The blade is upward bending and widening to the tip, where a small decoration gives the finishing touch. (63 cm).
Total length: 78 cm.
Provenance: From a weapon rack with old Indonesian swords, taken by a Dutch Knil officer before 1900.
