A rare gayang, Dusun tribes from North Borneo, 19th century.
Total length: 68 cm
Hilt:
Antler facegrip / red dyed hair tufts / brass wire / resin ring with silver flowershaped deco.
Scabbard:
Wooden scabbard with glossy old patina / similarly carved decorations as the handle.
Blade:
Typically gayang blade / engraved on both sides of the blade with motifs / 52 cm long / 9 mm thick at the base.
