MURUT SWORD

A sword of the Murut tribes, former English North-Borneo area, 19th century/early 20th century.

Total length: 83 cm

Hilt:

Typically forked wooden handle in perfect condition / brass sleeve / rattan / human hair.

Scabbard:

Wooden scabbard / long tufts of human hair / rattan belt.

Blade:

A heavy strong blade / engravings at the spine / big upward curve / 64 cm long / 10 mm thick at the base.
