BRUNEI MANDAU

Very rare type of mandau, Brunei, 19th century.

Total length: 71 cm

Hilt:

Antler hilt / beautifull patina.

Scabbard:

Wooden scabbard / old glossy patina / silver bands / fabric belt of old cotton / bark sideknife scabbard. 

Blade:

Blade shows lamination /concave and convex / at the convex side: brass inlay at the shoulder and incised motifs along the spine of the whole length / at the concave side: incised motif at the shoulder and is showing clearly the laminated blade / 53 cm long / 9 mm thick at the base.
