SEWAR (ivory hilt)

A rare sewar, Aceh, Peusangan area, 19th century.

Total length: 40 cm

Hilt:

Ivory pommel, on top decorated and filled with remnants of black mastic / Silver ferrule / Length: 6 cm / Diameter: 5 cm.

Scabbard:

Dark wood / Silver bands / Silver mouth- and endpiece with floral design / Length: 32 cm.

Blade:

Sturdy thick laminated blade / 30 cm long / Blade is 15 mm thick at the base / Base covered with silver sheath.
