KAYAN MANDAU

An old mandau, 19th century, Central Borneo Kayan tribes.

Total length: 66,5 cm

Hilt:

Antler hilt with aso carvings / Rattan braided winding around the handle / Old glossy patina / Resin ring missing.

Scabbard:

Wooden scabbard with bone mouthpiece / Rattan belt broken / Original rattan knots / Bark sideknifescabbard loose overlength but present / Including sideknife without blade / Scabbard has beautifull old patina.

Blade:

Heavy thick blade / Concave and convex forged / 50,5 cm long / 8 mm thick at the base / Bicolour brass and silver inlay (partly missing).
