KAYAN MANDAU

An old mandau, 19th century, Central Borneo Kayan tribes.
Total length: 67,5 cm
Hilt:
Antler hilt with lots of aso carvings and curly designs / Bicolour rattan braided winding around the handle / Resin ring missing.
Scabbard:
Wooden scabbard with three original rattan knots and bands / Rattan belt broken and missing / Bark sideknifescabbard (no sideknife) / Good old patina on the scabbard.
Blade:
Heavy thick blade / Concave and convex forged / Kayan motifs on the convex side along the back till the tip / 50,5 cm long / Spine 7,5 mm thick at the base.
