Very good jimpul, 19th century, in very good condition.
Hilt:
Antler hilt with glossy old patina.
Carved with Iban floral-, dots- and other motifs.
Silver wire at the grip with resin ring.
Blade:
Thick blade with fullers and krowit (hook).
The spine is decorated with talismanic motifs and brass inlaid lines (some missing) all over the length.
Has a great balance when handling.
Sheath:
Wooden scabbard with glossy old patina, decorated with floral motifs (recurring at the hilt).
Dark brown animal skin and rattan, holding the two slabs of wood together.
Fabric / rattan belt with several tassels (dyed with natural pigments), wooden belt buckle.
At the back there is a sideknife-scabbard (with a tuft of human hair attached), though the sideknife itself is missing.
