Sumatran Panjang keris, mid 1800's (provenance: from a private collection).


Hilt:

 

Dark horn hilt in perfect condition (no cracks). Tapak Kupa type (horse's hoof), with floral decorations, complex carvings and glossy old patina of age and use.

Silver beautifully crafted cup, consisting of two parts, uncleaned.

The length (cup included) is 100 mm.



Blade:

 

Straight sturdy ancient uncleaned blade, pitted at different places, with perfect fit in the original scabbard. The Ganja is covered with a silver casing, decorated on  top.



Sheath:

 

Scabbard in top condition, no cracks and good old patina of age and use.

Perfect wooden wrangka, and wooden gandar consisting of one piece of wood.

The gandar is embellished with 12 small silver rings, and 5 silver plated copper sleeves with floral ornamentations.
